Each year, the women of our diocese award scholarships from our Bena Dial Fund. This fund was established in 1926, and has evolved into a scholarship awarded on the basis of scholastic achievement, church involvement, and financial need to any student, male or female, attending an accredited 2- or 4 year college, vocational school, graduate school, or professional school. The award amount is based on how much money we raise each year. This year, the award recipient will receive a $2,000 scholarship toward higher education expenses for the upcoming academic year.
Bena Dial Chair Meredith Blocker and President Kathy Siegel presented this year’s award to Mary Camilla Kennedy at Christ Church, Greenville during the 10:30 service on May 19th. Mary Camilla is a recent graduate of Greenville High School and will be attending Washington & Lee University in the fall. She plans to major in the science field and continue to vet school. Mary Camilla is extremely active at Christ Church, serving as an acolyte and chalice bearer, as well as serving on the Diocesan Youth Leadership Committee and Happening staff.

We wish Mary Camilla the best of luck and can’t wait to see what great work she accomplishes in the future!
