This Summer, St. Martin’s-in-the-Fields will host Camp Air, July 15-19. This day camp is designed to reinforce read
ing in an active, engaging way with a lot of fun built in all along the way. The camp begins to instill the love of reading as a lifelong recreational activity.
Camp AIR grew out of The Public Education Initiative of Bishop Waldo and other South Carolina bishops. For rising 5th and 6th grade students who may not quite be ready for an overnight camp experience, Camp AIR is a great opportunity to keep up their summer reading skills in an adventurous way. Campers come from many of the schools already associated with the tutoring fellowship Reading Matters.
All Instruction and activities this summer will be based on the book Hatchet by Gary Paulson. If you have never read Hatchet, I invite you to do so!
This year, Trinity Cathedral will be providing lunch and snacks for Camp AIR. There are many other exciting ways to get involved in Camp Air including helping make lunches and snacks. If you are interested in further information, please contact Bibs Babson, email@example.com, or Susan Heath, firstname.lastname@example.org.
