Hurricane Florence Disaster Response

To My Dear Sisters in Christ…

As we gather in Greenville this Saturday, September 22, for the 97th Annual ECW Convention and the Daughters of the King Fall Assembly, would you also be willing to help our neighbors in North Carolina? Maybe you have emergency items that you bought, but didn’t use??? I know that I do. A group from our Diocese is making plans to take supplies to shelters in New Bern, NC, and St. Martin’s-in-the–Fields in Columbia is storing the items until they can be delivered. Christ Church in New Bern has provided this list of the most needed items:

  • bottled water
  • underwear for men, women, children (adults in L, XL, XXL)
  • socks
  • baby diapers
  • baby formula
  • baby wipes (for babies and also for adults to “wash” if they don’t have access to showers)
  • feminine products
  • deodorant
  • cleaning supplies (Clorox wipes, mops, buckets, bleach)
  • contractor bags for yard debris
  • tape (electrical, duct, and packing)
  • tarps
  • hand sanitizer

If you would like to donate any of these items, you are welcome to bring them with you Saturday. I’ll put them in my car, and then take them to St. Martin’s on Monday or Tuesday. This is not something you have to do! I just want to make the offer to get any donations to Columbia for those who want to help.
